Orchestral storytelling reaches its pinnacle with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, a vivid tour de force of towering scale and instrumental color. Returning violinist Elina Vähälä brings her profound artistry to Bruch’s beloved Violin Concerto No. 1, while Amy Beach’s elegant Bal Masqué adds a touch of ballroom charm. Completing the program is the West Coast premiere of Campos Flotantes by audience favorite and First Symphony Project composer, Angelica Negrón.

Program

AMY BEACH: Bal Masqué for Orchestra, Opus 22
MAX BRUCH: Concerto No. 1 in G minor for Violin and Orchestra
ANGELICA NEGRÓN: Campos Flotantes for Orchestra (West Coast Premiere)
MODEST MUSSORGSKY, orch. Maurice Ravel: Pictures at an Exhibition for Orchestra
