We are working to build our financial sustainability to ensure that the Green Music Center will flourish for decades to come. Ticket sales account for approximately half of our presenting budget, so we rely on your generous support as well as annual support from individuals, businesses, and foundations to make up the difference. I want to share some information on how our budgets are structured and our plans to build endowment funds for the future.
Sonoma State allocates funds to the Green Music Center to support university activities that enrich student learning and maintain the facility, amounting to about half of the overall budget.
The presenting budget is the other half, a “self support” budget that funds the presentation of renowned touring artists and the development and administration of programs.
Of our presenting budget, 58% of the revenue comes from earned revenue, which includes ticket sales and rentals. The rest is contributed from individuals, corporations, and foundations, with a small distribution from endowment funds.
As the Green Music Center continues to mature and provide compelling programming for communities across the North Bay, the Board of Advisors has identified the need to build endowment funds in order to sustain this remarkable community resource for generations to come.
