New York-based saxophonist, composer, and educator Dave Pietro is known for his work as a member of the Grammy Award-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra and Grammy-nominated ensembles Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society and the Gil Evans Project.

Pietro was lead alto saxophonist with the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra (1994–2016), recording six albums, and has worked with Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, Maynard Ferguson, and the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. As a leader, he has released 12 albums, including The Butterfly Effect (2026) and The Talisman (2024).
