Symphonic grandeur and driving rhythms define Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Featuring a massive chorus and vocal soloists, this beloved work is celebrated for its dramatic impact and sheer sonic scale. The program also features the California premiere of Gabriela Lena Frank’s Picaflor: A Future Myth, an imaginative work whose vibrant contemporary textures provide a sophisticated contrast to Orff’s iconic work.
