Prelude Restaurant & Bar, a farm-to-table restaurant located at the Green Music Center on the campus of Sonoma State University, is excited to announce its
grand opening on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Prelude is now leased and run by an entirely new team and operating company. They will offer a refined dining experience featuring locally-sourced produce transformed into globally-inspired dishes.

Prelude’s menu features the freshest seasonal ingredients. The restaurant offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere with a fireplace and garden patio, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. Guests can attend performances at the Green Music Center in conjunction with their dining experience.

Martin Nassif
Chef Martin brings a passion for culinary creativity and a dedication to high-quality ingredients to Prelude. With over 16 years of experience in the culinary world, Chef Martin has crafted a signature style that blends fusion techniques and a farm-fresh approach.
Trained in the Chicago culinary scene, Chef Martin honed their skills in renowned kitchens like Giuseppe Tentori’s Fish & Oyster, Lee Wolen’s Boka, and alongside Ralf Schlegel at the Peninsula Beverly Hills.
Chef Martin is known for a culinary approach that celebrates seasonality, bold flavors, and the artistry of plating. Their innovative yet approachable dishes reflect a commitment to sustainable sourcing and support local farmers, purveyors, and artisans.
Alex Chen
Chef Alex influenced by a strong Asian culinary heritage and inspired by travels with his parents around the world, Chef Alex discovered his passion for cooking at a young age. With 18 years of experience in the industry, he brings a unique artisan style of Asian and Western fusion, incorporating local and seasonal ingredients to Prelude.
Worked in esteemed restaurants such as the Des Moines Embassy Club 1947 with Chef Michael Lavalle; Lao Zheng Xing (since 1862) in Shanghai. His experience also extends to hotels like Hotel Four Points, Sheraton, Embassy Suites and Graton Casino in Sonoma County.
Chef Alex delivers culinary harmony, balancing yin and yang in his food. His innovative dishes offer exceptional taste while promoting optimal health and vitality.
Dexter Liao
A seasoned food and beverage professional with over 30 years of experience, he is dedicated to elevating the dining experience. He has successfully bridged Eastern and Western culinary traditions, leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional service at prestigious events, including the Beijing Olympics and royal banquets. His strategic leadership was instrumental in achieving the top 20 national sales performance at Graton Casino during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond professional success, he is committed to community service, organizing meals for thousands during the Sonoma County Wildfire. He is passionate about bringing back loyal patrons to Prelude Restaurant and introducing innovative culinary concepts.


Parking
Parking is included with your performance ticket. If you are dining at Prelude without a performance ticket (or on a night without a performance), you will need to pay for parking. Prelude will deduct the $6 parking fee from your bill.
