Anthony De Mare
Liaisons 2021: Reimagining Sondheim from the piano

Sun, March 6, 2022 - Tickets: $30–$40

A landmark commissioning project conceived by acclaimed concert pianist Anthony de Mare, Liaisons: Re-Imagining Sondheim From the Piano celebrates new music inspired by the work of Stephen Sondheim, who is recognized worldwide as a brilliant musical theater composer and lyricist, creating seminal works including West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, and many more.

The project has brought together 50 of the world’s leading composers of classical, jazz, film, pop, and musical theater to each reimagine one of Sondheim’s songs. Selections from the project will be introduced by de Mare with stories of how Sondheim inspired the composers, which include Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Steve Reich, and Daniel Bernard Roumain.
