Santa Rosa Symphony - A Celebratory Opening

“…a sound of ravishing purity and out-and-out sensuality.”—The Strad

Don festive dress and join us for the celebratory opening of the Santa Rosa Symphony’s second season as Resident Orchestra at the Green Music Center and our 86th year of music-making! A joyful trumpet fanfare will call our audience into the concert hall, and complimentary sparkling wine will be served after the performance.

Following John Adams’ “hot rod ride,” violinist Tedi Papavrami takes the stage to interpret a challenging Shostakovich concerto. The program concludes with Shostakovich’s Fifth, a symphony that combines elements of satire and grandeur with the tribulations of both the composer and the Russian people.
